Thank you for visiting the website of Daphne Cartwright. Her work, which for many years took her to Wester Ross in the Scottish Highlands, is a fusion of both observed and physically felt experience - in which the unconscious plays a large part. The results can be multi-layered pieces that use the rhythms of pulse and pattern to link and map layers of memory. This conjunction of 'random' chance and mathematical systems leads to work with many complex layers of colour and form.
